I used to get bored, but now I find that I don’t have much time to pass. Between commuting and working and handling all of the crises that tend to pop up in life, there’s not much true idle time. But when there is, I:
- take a walk
- cook something new
- 5-minute power nap
- play cards/dominoes/a board game (beware — this is just as addictive as watching TV)
- write
- think about things that deserve to be thought through
- nothing — just zone out and let the brain rest a little
- go out with the phone on silent (which I sometimes regret when I come back to 49 messages from my family asking if I’m still alive)— see a movie, hookah, billiards, go to the mall and not buy anything, etc.
